The solution has been designed for giving access to the future Zorrotzaurre Island in Bilbao, saving the Deusto channel's 75 meters width, with an innovator structural design, which supposes a visual presence reduction over the deck, almost ethereal, that reminds the old cranes of Bilbao.
For materializing the structure Fink inverted girders has been used as main elements, with steel masts of diamond cross section and variable height; and a lower fish-beam with an also variable web.
Those girders are placed between the driveway and the pedestrian areas, so they could be not only an structural element, but also a separation of the traffic and the resting areas. There is also a bench integrated in the structural element, providing a psychological sense of protection and safeness to cyclists and pedestrians, which allows them to delights the beautiful landscape of the channel.
The separation between the lower stays of the Fink girders, is 10.0+76.9+8.7, being the deck's width variable between 26.8 and 29 meters.
