2010 fib AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING CONCRETE STRUCTURES

The Third Millennium Bridge over Ebro River in the Spanish city of Saragossa was awarded by fib (Fédération Internationale du Béton) in the Congress that was held in Washington D.C. between the 29th May and 2nd June 2010, with the Civil Engineering Structure Outstanding Award in the period 2006-2010.

During the award ceremony, Guillermo Capellán and Héctor Beade, representing Professor Juan José Arenas and his human team, presented two lectures concerning design and construction aspects of the bridge.

This Award is the most important in Civil Engineering Structures’ world, highlighting the creativity and overcoming that the Third Millennium Bridge represents to the state of art in concrete bowstring bridges.
