Bridges in Espinilla and Barcenilla, Cantabria

DESCRIPCION

BRIDGE IN ESPINILLA:

The adecuation of this bridge consisted in a  width increasing from 5'6 m to 14 using precasted concrete elements and slabs made on on-site concrete. The trhee original 4'9m spans were replaced by a new resisatant structure with 29'76 m lenght and five spas, including two hiden counterwights in the lateral spans.

BRIDGE IN BARCENILLA, SELAYA:
With a similar solution, it has been completed a widht increasing from 4 to 8 metres. The original bridge had two vaults with 9'6 metres of span, with a span/rise relation of 7'7 metres. Given the dangerous degrataton state of the vaults and its visible deformations, produced by movements in the river pile, it was necessary a new structure, materialized in a renforced concrete deck built over the vaults after taking its filling out, preserving the original appearance of the bridge.
