Puente de Boltaña
DESCRIPCION
Boltaña, a little villlage in the Pyrenees foothills, needed a new bridge over the Ara River, which descends from the Ordesa National Park. The result was a frame bridge of 45 m span between the plastic hinges located in the bases of the triangular lateral cells, in which the compressed slab and the prestressed stays shows clearly the internal forces reaching a sculptural value. Arenas always reminds the effort and time that he had to dedicate to the plastic hinges design, admitting at last that all that work worth it because it helped him to understand the expressive possibilities associated to that kind of details
