Bridge over the Pas River, Ocejo
DESCRIPCION
This concrete bridge, 60 m length with a span distribution of 36+24 m was built in the village of Ocejo, in the Pas Valley, Cantabria.
The deck of 7 m width has a continuous-girder design, with the exception on the chapiters over the piles.
These piers, with variable diamond section are connected to the deck with plastic hinges, avoiding only the vertical and horizontal movements.
The abutments reproduce the external forms of the piles, resulting a simple but equilibrated structure with a well-groomed appearance of the concrete, integrated in its rural and mountainous environment.
The deck's section is hollowed with porexpan elements. The formworks of the deck, piles and abutments received a special attention searching for better results and durability.
