Footbridge in Reinosa
DESCRIPCION
This small timber footbridge (13 m) spans the River Ebro only a few kilometers away from its source, offering a pedestrian alternative in the village of Reinosa to the 18th century Carlos III Bridge. Its structure is formed by a pair of triangular inclined frames, from whose top vertices, two pairs of steel bars support the deck. The elemts of the frame, including the deck itself, are GL-28h-glue-laminated-timber beams. Timber protection details have been thoroughly designed to improve durability and to reduce maintenance needs as possible.
The footbridge has a timber decking with a special surface treatment in order to avoid slipping during frost periods, which are frequent in the area.
